Asha Fernandes

My name is Asha Fernandes, I am a Senior Leader and Year 3 teacher at GEMS
Cambridge International Private School – Sharjah. 

After obtaining my degree in Psychology and Political Science, I chose to get professional training in the field that I was most passionate about - Education. I am a trained and qualified teacher and have been teaching Primary students for the past 13 years. I started my journey in India in 2009 and progressed from being a homeroom teacher to a teacher mentor and now being part of the Senior Leadership Team as the Design Thinking Lead in Primary. .  

I have always been very keen to learn and implement a model for reframing methods and outcomes in teaching and learning.  Design Thinking has widened my horizons. It reconnects educators to their creativity and aspirations for helping students develop as deep thinkers and doers. 

My journey of self-discovery began at GCS in 2019 and it has progressed by leaps and bounds. 

I am as always looking forward to be part of a wonderful team, growing with the GCS family and working with you, our wonderful parents.
