School Counsellor

At GCS we aim to promote the wellbeing of all children, families and staff.

Our mission is to provide a proactive, comprehensive, and developmentally appropriate program to address children’s social and emotional development. We support children in developing the skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to become effective students, responsible citizens and lifelong learners.

The school counsellor collaborates with staff, families and outside providers, to support the wellbeing of all children within the school.

Children can see the school counsellor through either self-referral, staff referral or parent referral. The school counsellor will refer to outside services when necessary. Small group and individual sessions are provided, along with drop in sessions.

Confidentiality and privacy are strictly adhered to, except in the case of harm or abuse (According to UAE child protection laws and GEMS safeguarding policy).
