Whole School Teaching and Learning Coach

My journey into education began over fourteen years ago and I have been fortunate to have worked and lived internationally during this time. After obtaining my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and PGCE in South Africa, I moved to London, UK in 2007. I taught across various year groups, mentoring fellow teachers, eventually becoming the Head of Music, organising annual concerts parental engagements and school celebrations. In 2015 I moved to the UAE and joined the GEMS family. As Head of Year, I developed and monitored the delivery of the Year 6 curriculum, the students’ progress and attainments as well as the pastoral and behavioural needs of the students and teachers. In 2017 I took on the role as Assistant Headteacher and successfully implemented the Primary Creative Curriculum whilst mentoring Heads of Year, the Music team and class teachers.

Having completed my Master of Professional Education in 2018, I am so excited to be part of Cambridge International Private School, Sharjah. As Whole School Teaching and Learning Coach and part of the Executive Leadership Team, I have the privilege of working with all our amazing teachers, ensuring that teaching and learning at GCS is inspiring, innovative, engaging and personalised, maximising all students’ potential and empowering them to become enthusiastic and independent learners. I contribute to the strategic development of the school whilst building a professional learning community that offers opportunities for others to achieve.

As a world traveler, meeting and working with students and teachers from all over the globe. I believe that a positive atmosphere, where all individuals are valued can establish the foundation for unprecedented accomplishments and extraordinary success.
