Justin Curry
Head of Children's Services
I am excited to introduce myself as The Head of Children’s Services at GEMS Cambridge an absolute love of understanding, sharing knowledge with and allowing all neurodiverse learners to succeed is the reason I still love being in the classroom with students.
I was born and raised in Australia where I have been conferred with two degrees related to Special Education including a Master's Degree in Applied Behaviour Management. Additionally, I also have a Master's Degree in International Education and this learning underpins my teaching and leadership beliefs.
For over 20 years I have been teaching and leading schools. I have taught in a wide variety of schools and contexts including small rural and remote schools across Australia to International Schools in the UAE, including schools that are low socio-economic and their related issues. My leadership includes over 10 years as a school principal in primary education and the past two years as the Inclusion Coordinator at a secondary school in Sharjah. Even in this role it was working with students in the classroom and seeing their improvement that was the most satisfying.
I love the idea of modern education where all learners and learning styles are welcome and the new understanding schools have to meet the needs of all students. I am a firm believer schools are there to help all students be successful as life-long learners. I still enjoy learning and sharing my knowledge with others to ensure great outcomes for everyone.
Outside of school I have a passion for most sports but particularly cricket, football and running. I enjoy reading books and listening to podcasts whilst exercising. I am very excited to be part of the GEMS Cambridge family.
