Aidan Godwin

Assistant Headteacher (Primary) - Data & Assessment

My name is Aidan Godwin and I am delighted to introduce myself as the Assistant Head of Data, Assessment and Reports (Primary) at GEMS Cambridge International Private School, Sharjah (GCS).

I am originally from Surrey in the United Kingdom and have been fortunate to work across both state and private education for the past 15 years. For the last eight years, I have been based in Dubai, where I have held a range of leadership roles, most recently as Primary School Innovation, Computing, and ICT Pedagogical Leader.

During my career, I have served as Deputy Safeguarding Lead, Head of Year, and Head of Subject for Primary Computing. In these roles, I have mentored and developed teachers into confident, high-quality facilitators, championed whole-school innovation, and played a key role in maintaining Apple Distinguished School status. I am passionate about using data to drive teaching and learning excellence, and I am committed to ensuring that every child can achieve their full academic, social, and emotional potential.

I hold a PGCE with QTS from the University of Surrey, a National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML) from UCL and am currently undertaking my National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL). My work has been recognised with the GESS Award for Best Use of Digital Learning in the Classroom.

I believe that education is most effective when schools and families work closely together, and I look forward to building strong partnerships with parents to support our students. I am excited to bring my skills, experience, and enthusiasm to GEMS Cambridge International and to contribute to the continued success of our school community.
