Urooj Fathima
Head of Key Stage-3 (Girls)
I am delighted to introduce myself as the Senior Leader for Key Stage 3 (Girls) at GEMS Cambridge International Private School, Sharjah (GCS). I am originally from Pakistan but moved to the United Arab Emirates nearly a decade ago, where I have been working as a Science and Chemistry educator. I am eager to apply the knowledge, skills, and experience I have gained throughout my teaching and leadership journey to further strengthen the pastoral and academic development of our students. I am also committed to building on the outstanding work already achieved by our staff, students, and parents, ensuring that our learners continue to thrive and reach their highest potential.
My educational career began in Pakistan, where I completed my Master’s in Applied Chemistry. I later joined GCS as a Secondary Science Teacher, and my dedication to student wellbeing, academic progress, and personal growth led to my promotion to Head of Year. I served in this role for two years, working closely with students, parents, and staff to create a positive and supportive school environment. This year, I have stepped into my new role as Senior Leader for Key Stage 3 (Girls), where I will continue to lead with a strong focus on communication, collaboration, and community engagement.
I believe that my leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, and dedication to student success will help me make a meaningful impact in my role. I am passionate about inspiring young learners, empowering them to achieve their goals, and fostering a culture of respect, resilience, and academic excellence at GCS.
