Assistant Head Teacher (Secondary) - Teaching & Learning
I am delighted to introduce myself as Assistant Head Teacher for Teaching and Learning at GEMS Cambridge International Private School, Sharjah (GCS). I am originally from Nottinghamshire and began my teaching career in the UK, but after four years I embarked on my international career, which has been an incredibly rewarding journey spanning over 16 years.
My international experience began with four years at Harrow Bangkok, where I developed my passion for international education. Following this, I spent eight years in Italy in a whole-school senior leadership role, which provided me with invaluable experience in educational management and working with diverse international communities. Six years ago, I moved to Dubai where for the last four years I have been Assistant Head Teacher in an IB school, further developing my expertise in progressive educational approaches and student-centred learning.
I am excited to be bringing my learning and knowledge to GCS. The school shares the same values that are core to my educational philosophy - placing students at the centre of everything we do. Student wellbeing and preparing our young people for their future success is fundamental to my approach to education.
I believe that my extensive international experience and commitment to holistic education will enable me to contribute meaningfully to the outstanding work already being done by the staff, students and parents at GCS. I am passionate about ensuring that our school and our students achieve their maximum potential, and I look forward to working collaboratively with our community to continue building upon the excellent foundation already established here.
