Dawid Van Vuuren
Head of Key Stage-3 (Boys)
I am delighted to introduce myself to you as Senior Leader: Head of Key Stage Three Boys at GEMS Cambridge International Private School, Sharjah. My name is Dawid Van Vuuren, and I come from the beautiful country of South Africa. I graduated from Northwest University with a BCom in Industrial Psychology and a B.Ed. in Education, and this year marks both my ninth year in the UAE and my third year as part of the GCS community.
Over the years, I have been privileged to hold a variety of leadership roles, including Head of Year 9 and Head of Faculty for Business, Economics, Accounting, and
Computer Science. Alongside these responsibilities, I have also served as a Form Tutor, which gave me the opportunity to work closely with students on a daily basis, supporting not only their academic progress but also their personal growth and wellbeing. These experiences have strengthened my belief that education is not only about results but about shaping confident, resilient, and compassionate young people.
As Key Stage Three Leader, my commitment is to create an environment where every student feels safe, valued, and motivated to reach their potential. I believe that respect, kindness, honesty, and integrity are the foundation of success, and I encourage our students to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth. With the right guidance, I know they can develop the character, confidence, and determination to flourish both in school and in life.
Pastoral care lies at the heart of everything I do. By working closely with parents and fostering strong partnerships, I aim to build a nurturing community where students are inspired to aim high, dream boldly, and prepare for the exciting opportunities that await them.
