Bryce Long
Head of Primary
I am delighted to serve as the Head of Primary at GEMS Cambridge International Private School – Sharjah.
Originally from Northamptonshire in the United Kingdom, I bring over 15 years of experience in education across both the UK and UAE. After graduating from the University of Northampton with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education, I began my career as a classroom teacher before progressing into specialist teaching and leadership roles within primary and all-through schools.
Throughout my career, I have held a range of academic and pastoral leadership positions, developing extensive experience in school improvement, teaching and learning, staff development, and student wellbeing. Prior to joining GEMS Cambridge Sharjah, I worked as an Assistant Headteacher in an Outstanding school in Dubai. I then spent three years as Deputy Head of Primary at GCS before being appointed Head of Primary.
Alongside my school leadership responsibilities, I am a National Professional Qualification (NPQ) Facilitator, having supported aspiring and current leaders across the Middle East through the NPQLT (Leading Teaching) and NPQSL (Senior Leadership) programmes. This work has further strengthened my passion for developing effective leadership and creating high-performing school cultures.
Having worked with students from a wide range of backgrounds, cultures, and abilities, I firmly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed and flourish. I am passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where students feel valued, challenged, and inspired to achieve their full potential. Strong pastoral care, high expectations, and meaningful relationships are at the heart of my educational philosophy.
As Head of Primary, I am committed to ensuring that every child receives an exceptional educational experience that develops not only academic excellence but also the character, confidence, and skills needed for the future. Through a rich and engaging curriculum, innovative teaching, and a wide range of enrichment opportunities, we strive to equip our learners with the critical thinking, resilience, creativity, and collaboration skills required to thrive in an ever-changing world.
I am incredibly proud to be part of the GCS community and look forward to working in partnership with our students, families, and staff as we continue to inspire success and create opportunities for every child to shine.
